After a long time of procrastination and memory loss I finally acquired my first “cloud” vps. It has whopping 1 gigabyte of memory, 1 virtual core on a decade old Xeon and 10 gigabytes of SSD storage.

This baby is worth every single euro ir costs me each month. For whole 2€ a month I get just enough hardware to host:

• Two static webpages, including this one.
• SearX instance with proxy.
• OpenVPN instance providing me true no logs experience that honeypot providers like NordVPN won’t.
• TinyTinyRSS to hoard and forget articles from ~50 blogs and aggregators.
• Discord bot which adds extra pair of spying eyes to a few servers. It’s called analytics.

And it still does not use the whole gigabyte of memory.
